(Anaheim, CA) and holds positions as a Senior Safety Integration Specialist as well as Standards & Technology Specialist.  He is based in the Cleveland, OH area and has been with Omron STI for over seven years.  Before accepting this position, he was a product and marketing manager for an industrial safety integrator and distributor.  Mr. Soranno is also an active member of more than a dozen various domestic and international consensus safety standards, as well as co-chairperson of the ANSI B11.3 standard for Power Press Brakes.

Cognex Introduces Two High Resolution Checker Vision Sensors

Cognex Corporation (NASDAQ: CGNX) has added two new high resolution models to its award-winning line of Checker® vision sensors.

The new Checker 3G7 features 752 x 480 pixel resolution for better inspection of small features and high intensity white LED illumination for optimum image contrast. The Checker 3G7 can be configured as either a Presence or Measurement sensor, and can detect and inspect up to 800 parts per minute. All Checker 3G models require no PC for set up, and can be configured in a matter of minutes using the SensorView® teach pendant and One-Click Setup™ feature.

The new Checker 272 offers the same resolution and lighting features as the 3G7 plus a ladder logic editor, encoder-based part tracking, and additional IO. The Checker 272 includes both Presence and Measurement sensors.

Twido Programmable Controller Catalog 2009

The attached PDF is the 2009 catalog for the complete Twido PLC product line from Schneider Electric, including hardware details for the Twido Modular, Compact, and Twido Extreme models.  Also provides details on the Telefast I/O bases, and the new part numbers for the analog and discrete I/O modules (i.e. part numbers are changing from a "TWD" prefix to a "TM2" prefix).  The Twido I/O modules will also be shared by the new M238 PLC platform and the upcoming Magelis XBTGC HMI with integrated control from Schneider Electric.
